For the fifth year in the row, Restart is organizing a networking event for diaspora and BH businesses in Sarajevo, the night before the Sarajevo Film Festival. This year’s event will be slightly different from what you are used to in the previous year given the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis
Reconnect 2020 aims not only to connect and match our entrepreneurial oriented diaspora and local companies to exchange their knowledge and expertise but also to look at the scope and consequences of global immobility induced by Corona-crisis and how to overcome them in the coming period.
The main focus of Reconnect 2020 will be how can key service industries, IT and tourism, outmanoeuvre the uncertainty and turn massive challenges into meaningful change. Businesses must navigate the financial and operational challenges of COVID-19 while rapidly addressing the need of their people, customers and suppliers.
The reopening of businesses (tourism, in particular), imposes a number of questions for owners and it will require a lot of business reinvention. However, this presents an opportunity—and a need—for many companies to build the competencies they wish they’d invested in before: to be more digital, data-driven, and in the cloud; to have more variable cost structures, agile operations and automation; to create stronger capabilities in e-commerce and security.
This year’s Reconnect will host a number of experienced diaspora professionals helping to navigate you through the impacts of COVID-19 (impact on strategy, customers, workforce, operations, finances and technology) and how to turn them into opportunities. The speakers will represent the following key services:
-IT (systems architecture, database design and development, application development, testing, security services…)
-Tourism (domestic tourism, inbound tourism, outbound tourism…)
-E-commerce (mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer, internet marketing, online transaction processing, online shopping, online marketplaces, virtual assistants…)
This year’s Reconnect will be held at popular Yellow Fortress (Žuta tabija) landmark in Sarajevo on August 13 with limited number of up to 100 participants due to the current situation with COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration opens on July 6 with free early bird tickets available until July 20.
Registration process will be done through Reconnect website and mobile application supported by GatherUp! platform.
